
Why the AMAKA Beauty Studio Sew-In
We do not braid in a circle, or upward on the head. Instead, we follow the laws of gravity. Your hair grows downward, so braiding the hair in the total opposite direction in which it grows, is a surefire way to slow hair growth, or increase the possibility of loss.
We do not travel too far with the needle between stitches when performing the actual sew-in. Travel means that we do not use big stitching because this can pull out hair strand by strand in isolated areas. The ultimate goals is to retain length during an install and not to lose any hair.
We use a net because this aids in protecting and nurturing your hair and scalp. The net distributes the tension that would normally be all on your actual hair. The net application causes less hair fall and breakage. The net also helps to trap in the natural oil that your scalp produces, which ultimately is the best oil for the hair.
We recommend that you come to Amaka Studio for your maintenance shampoos, or using a shampoo and conditioner that we recommend to ensure the best results. Much of hair fall and hair loss occurs when the client maintains their hair outside of the Studio. You can spend weeks and months growing your hair and not see the hair growth/retention results you want because of how you are maintaining your install outside of the salon. Shampooing incorrectly can cause unforeseen damage to the scalp and inflammation to the scalp.
We recommend that you come to Amaka Beauty Studio for the removal of your sew-in. Amaka Beauty Studio care's about the health and integrity of your hair. There are certain things that a client cannot see when removing a sew-in that we can see when we are removing an install. The chances of accidentally cutting your actual hair, or even causing yourself bodily harm are increased when you try and remove a sew-in on your own. Also, all the length you are attempting to retain while having an install, can be reversed in one day if the hair is not detangled properly during the sew-in stall take down process
